 COMMUNITY CENTRE BENEFITS

The Taché Multiplex is a new recreation infrastructure project that will serve the entire RM of Taché and surrounding areas. It will provide an opportunity for individuals and community to engage in meaningful, accessible, recreation experiences that foster well-being.

ABOUT THE NEW COMMUNITY CENTRE

This all-inclusive multiplex will feature a new ice rink, 6 change rooms, an indoor walking track and a new library. The multiplex will be located beside the existing Lorette Community Centre that has been serving the RM of Taché since 1964 with its ice surface, curling facility and a large and small community space. The new multiplex will be part of a bigger recreation facility hub which includes open space infrastructures: soccer fields, ball diamonds, outdoor arena, splash pad, outdoor play equipment, outdoor walking paths, skate park and future camping facilities.

A GROWING COMMUNITY — A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE

The Taché Multiplex is the result of years of planning to better meet the current and future needs of the community and surrounding area. The population in the RM of Taché is surpassing the provincial average. From 2011 to 2016, its population grew by 1,300 people. The largest age group in the RM is children under the age of 14. The new multiplex will provide an inclusive environment for recreation opportunities, improving the overall quality of life for our youth as well as the well-being of our growing community.

YOUR SUPPORT COUNTS

A project of this scope depends on the financial support from all levels of government. The R.M. of Taché has approved preliminary plans at a cost of $11 million. The R.M. has also passed resolution to commit up to $3 million once requested funds from the federal and provincial governments have each committed. The government expects the community to demonstrate its support for the project. The fundraising goal for the community contribution has been set at $2 million. Fundraising has begun at various levels throughout the community.
