Herzing College Winnipeg is now offering three technology programs:  Software Development, Cybersecurity, and Computer Network Technology.  Each of our programs has an internship component of varying lengths.  Internship is full time days, Monday through Friday.  Students are covered under Herzing’s liability insurance while at your premises. We carry third party liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage in the amount of five million dollars per occurrence.  Our students are covered under the WCB Act while on their internship.

Internship allows the student to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired, thereby completing their education in a workplace setting.  Links are provided below to each of the technology programs.

PROVIDENCE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE offers bachelor degrees in the Arts, Science, Business Administration and Theology. Some of its most popular majors include Aviation, Communications & Media, Biblical Studies, Biology, Business, Health Science, Psychology and TESOL. Only a 30-minute drive south of RM Taché, the university is located at 10 College Crescent in Otterburne, MB, 204-433-7488.

Providence is home to two distinct schools which include: an English Language Institute which prepares international students, whose first language is not English, for successful academic studies at the post-secondary level, and the Buller School of Business that offers two-year, three-year and four-year degree programs.

In 2023, Providence launched a Centre for On-Demand Education (CODE). This is a new offering that seeks to address the needs of: individual students who want to continue their education and upgrade their skills; as well as employers who want to develop their employees with on-the-job training. CODE’s goals are to make education accessible, applicable, and affordable.

Red River Polytechnique Steinbach Campus –

Red River College Polytechnic’s Steinbach Campus is located in the Eastman Education Centre on Loewen Boulevard in Steinbach. We offer offers a broad range of education and training opportunities in business, health care and education, with most programs having more than one intake per year. Through creative time management, careful programming, and flexible timetabling we can assist you in selecting the training program, or courses best suited to your interests, and needs.

Examples of business courses include: Business Administration, full-time, Diploma and Business, Accounting and Management, full-time, and Administrative Assistant.

RMED meets the need for rural economic support, information, and connection by supporting Manitoba communities, economic development offices, and businesses by:

  1. Focusing on partnership, capacity-building, communication, and promotion.
  2. Offering help navigating government programs and keeping rural municipalities updated on new regulations and legislation that’ll impact local economies.
  3. Collecting, managing, and distributing economic development data to support rural municipalities, communities, and rural-based companies of all sizes.
  4. Providing information, opportunities, and assistance in reducing barriers to economic development by acting as a rural partner for agencies supporting, encouraging and enabling trade, tourism innovation and tourism throughout Manitoba.
  • RMED has a resource library, events calendar and a data centre to assist communities and businesses. RMED is currently building a database of businesses and are developing Took Kits to compliment Economic Development work such as Strategic Planning, Tracking and Measuring Economic Success, Business Retention and Expansion, Marketing Your Community. 

The Economic Development Council for Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (CDEM) has been the driving force behind economic development in 15 bilingual communities of Manitoba. They work in the following sectors: business services, community economic development, employability and immigration, youth, and tourism.

  • CDEM offers a wide range of services to Francophone and Francophile businesspeople who wish to take advantage of bilingualism as a value-added in Manitoba’s growing economy. CDEM’s business advisors have the expertise to help you complete all the necessary steps that are involved in creating and operating a business. Whether it’s a new product or a service, you can call on the CDEM as soon as a business idea pops into your head. We’ll be happy to answer your questions. They will assist with building your business plan and have an Investment Fund.

The Women’s Enterprise Centre of Manitoba is a resource for women looking to start or expand their businesses. We work on an individual basis with women throughout the province with three core services: business advising, training and financing. The team at the Centre has developed innovative programs to assist women at all business stages. They deliver a variety of events, networking and mentorship opportunities to help women develop their business knowledge and expand their networks.

North Forge is an incubator accelerator and a powerhouse entrepreneur community fueling Manitoba’s innovative science-based, technology-enabled, and advanced manufacturing startups. They curate resources to help entrepreneurs solve problems in real time and reduce the cost and risk of innovation.

Acceleration and Incubation of Manufacturing  Innovation – FabLab  is the largest publicly accessible fabrication lab in North America. A start up incubator and accelerator. Membership provides access to the 12,000 sq ft FabLab. Equipment rooms are continuously growing to help commercialize ideas and accommodate needs of advanced manufacturing. Ex rapid prototyping, 3D printing, Laser cutting, metalworking, woodworking, plastic forming, loT.

Founders Program: Startups that are science based, technology enabled, and advanced manufacturing will receive foundational business training, access to networks, mentors and pathfinding to grow capital. Unique 4 stage program provides you with comprehensive resourced completed with regional knowledge and international experience. Program is:

Founded in 1992 by the economic development initiatives of the Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF), Louis Riel Capital Corporation (LRCC) is a Manitoba Metis-owned lending institution created to finance the start-up, acquisition and/ or expansion of viable Metis controlled small businesses based in Manitoba.

LRCC provides the following business services:

Futurpreneur has been fueling the entrepreneurial passions of Canada’s young enterprise for over two decades. They are the only national, non-profit organization that provides financing, mentoring and support tools to aspiring business owners aged 18-39. They hand matches young entrepreneurs with a business expert from a network of more than 2,600 volunteer mentors.

Indigenous Entrepreneur Start Up Program – with financing, mentorship and resources. Support with up to $60,000 in loan financing , and expert mentor for 2 years, and access to resources.

Black Entrepreneurship Startup Program: Tailored support provided by a team with lived experience. Inclusive financing $5000 to $60,000 in startup loan financing, and up to $40,000 in follow- on financing funded by RBC, based on the first two years of business performance.

Community Futures Triple R’s main objectives are to help rural Canadians start or expand a business and to help sustain and improve communities and their local economies. They deliver a variety of services including loans and technical and advisory services for small and medium- sized businesses, services targeted to youth and entrepreneurs with disabilities, and community economic development and planning.

Build a Better Business Program: consists of 10 learning modules designed for new and potential business owners to hep them gain a better understanding of what they need to know to start or grow their business and manage it. Designed to be delivered in person or online, learners can watch at their own pace. Available in French and English.
