Bill Heather has lived his whole life on the farm on Heatherdale Road. He graduated from Lorette Collegiate and obtained a B.A. and a B.ED. from the University of Manitoba while teaching and working as a principal for the Transcona Springfield School Division.
After 35 years he retired to farm full time. He and his family developed a purebred Charolais herd. When his two sons moved to Toronto he sold his herd and committed his time to working as Councillor for the R.M. of Taché.
