Taché Recycling Program
In 1993, the RM of Taché initiated a municipal wide curbside recycling program. This program is very unique and very few municipalities in the Province of Manitoba offer such a service. Each property classification that generates recyclable materials is charged $28/unit (for 2016) directly on the property tax statement for this service. If you are currently not taking advantage of this excellent program and would like to, please contact us by using the E-Service request form. If you are new to the municipality and would like to participate but your materials are not being picked up on the scheduled day, please let us know and we will notify the contractor of your desire to participate.
January 1st, 2017 marks the beginning of a new recyclable materials collection contract with Pak-Man Disposals.
The Taché Recycling Program is so easy. All recyclables must be placed in clear plastic bags or clear blue bags and tied. *No other bags will be accepted* Place your CLEAN recyclables in the bag and place it within 3 meters of the roadway by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled day.
Recyclables will be collected in all areas starting at 7:00 a.m. and terminating on the same day barring any difficulties, breakdowns or inclement weather conditions. In the event that your recyclable materials are not picked up on your regularly scheduled day, please place your bag by 7:00 a.m. the following day to receive pick-up services.
Any clear plastic bags or clear blue bags that have any garbage or material that are not accepted on our program will not be picked up. Loose recyclables in blue boxes will not be accepted nor recyclables that have been blown around by the wind. It will be the customers responsibility to pick up. Please tie your bag. Please read the materials that we accept on our program.
Did you know that smoke detectors are recyclable?
Remove the batteries and recycle your smoke detector in the same manner as all other recyclable items.
We do not accept any Plastic Bags, Kleenex, Paper Towel, Shopping Bags, Wood, Clothing, or Styrofoam such as Egg cartons and Packing Material. Gift Wrap is not recyclable!
Collection Sheds are placed at the Lorette and Monominto Solid Waste Management Facilities. For any inquiries or clarification regarding the Recycling Program please contact the Municipal Office at 204-878-3321.
